What organization is responsible for providing over 40% of the nation’s blood supply? If you said the Red Cross you are correct. It is just one of many reasons we recognize March as American Red Cross Month. American Red Cross Month began being observed in 1943 but the organization traces its history back 130 years.
The non-profit organization has been providing services during war, natural disasters, and even local fires. The Red Cross is a great example of what happens when we get together to share our resources for the common good.
This year, Red Cross Month will be recognized with a special paint scheme on the NASCAR vehicle of Greg Biffle. Biffle is a blood donor himself, and he will drive the specially painted vehicle during the NASCAR race in Las Vegas on March 10.
