When the cold months take over and the awesome warm days disappear, boat season has come to an end.  Now you need to think about properly storing your boat.  Storing your boat can be done in a few easy steps.  These steps are time consuming, but they will have to be done.

Before you can properly store your boat, it needs to be cleaned.  Starting from the outside, clean your boat thoroughly.  This includes washing and polishing it if you want.  Once the outside of your boat is clean and shiny, start cleaning the inside of your boat.  Your boat needs to be as clean as the outside.  Make sure that there is no food left on the boat or clothes.  Once you have swept your boat, you may want to mop, but this is entirely up to you.  It is not required.

Once you have cleaned your boat inside and out, you need to check for any repairs that need to be made.  It is best to discover these mishaps now rather than right before you want to take your boat out when it’s warm and enjoy the warm weather.  Make all of the necessary repairs, then you will be ready to store your boat.  Your boat needs to be stored in a place that is covered and where it is protected from the outside elements.
