Spring Events in Illinois

The harsh Winter weather will not cause a diminished number of fun, family events in Illinois. If you live in Illinois, you’ll have access to numerous Spring events to choose.

  • The Makanda Spring Fest on May 3 – 4 gives local artists the opportunity to display their best works. Visitors can buy any work they enjoy, while listening to live music at the Makanda Pavilion and in the Rainmaker’s Garden.
  • 5K Race to Wrigley, April 12, is a start to Spring, starts and ends at Wrigley Field. This event helps start the baseball season and raises funds for the Chicago Cubs Charities, for the 9th year in a row. This is a Spring tradition, like Cub’s Opening Day (April 4), that you shouldn’t miss.
  • The Chicago Kids and Kites Festival, May 3 – 4, is a fun family day, when everyone is a kid. Along with face-painting and balloon artists, you can purchase kites and learn how to fly them. The kids–and parents–will enjoy the Big Kite Candy Drop, as a candy-filled kite drops candy from the sky.

These are but a few of the many family fun events in and around Lombard and Chicago you can enjoy. Everyone is ready to say "goodbye" to the harsh Winter weather and say "hello" to Spring.
